Shadow followed a winding path that was invisible unless you were actually on it. His steps never faltered. Soon the trail came to a sheltered valley, with holes on either side. The dens. Shadow looked behind to make sure Wind had followed.

The breeze picked up again as Wind followed. "These are the dens?" she asked.

Shadow nodded. He gestured in a wide circle with one paw. "You can pick any one you like, execpt one already claimed by a member." His ice blue eyes looked around, but it did not look as if any of the others were in camp at the moment.

Wind padded over to a fairly large one that had a really good view. "This one is good." she said.

Shadow nodded slightly. "Very well then, you can claim that one." He seemed largely indifferent to the routine procedures of accepting a member, but that was just his way. Each member was evalutated by him and everything about them stored in the back of the black alpha's head. "I suggest you go and get to know the boundaries of the terra."

Shadow sighed and turned and started walking for his own den at the head of the valley. Wind was very different from the last member he had escorted, Thrix.
